Amena is a dedicated and compassionate Supervisee in Social Work with a deep-rooted passion for helping others. Her journey to becoming a therapist was profoundly shaped by her personal experiences in therapy as a young adult, which ignited her desire to make a difference in the lives of others. She is a fervent advocate for reducing the stigma surrounding therapy, particularly within culturally diverse communities, and is committed to raising awareness about the critical importance of mental health.
Specializing in anxiety management and depression, Amena works with individual adults, children, teens, couples, and families. Her approach is centered on empowering her clients to develop healthy coping strategies, reduce stress, and recognize patterns that may hinder their well-being. By creating a supportive and non-judgmental environment, she helps her clients navigate their challenges and achieve greater emotional resilience.
Amena holds a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Washington State University and a Master’s in Social Work from Fordham University’s Graduate School of Social Services. With a foundation built on empathy and respect, Amena draws on her unique experiences as a Military Spouse and her strong background in cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) and mindfulness-based techniques to guide individuals toward a more balanced and fulfilling life.
